CONDRY® Agitated Vacuum Dryers

The Condry® conical bottom agitated vacuum dryer was developed to process a wide variety of products. The machines have proven to be particularly suited for the drying of heat sensitive products and product with fragile crystal structure and thus sensitive to shear forces.

The conical bottom allows for full product discharge characteristics. Designed for frequent product changes with excellent cleanability using CIP systems, simple validation.

The conical vessel bottom, narrow agitator to wall clearances, a special agitator blade design and the option for microwave heating makes this dryer the most versatile and efficient with a the best possible drying performance.

Inerting

Prior to feeding wet cake or slurry into the dryer the vessel interior is inerted by a controlled displacement of the oxygen containing atmosphere with Nitrogen. This procedure prevents the potential formation of an explosive atmosphere in the vessel interior.

Filling

After inertization is completed wet filter cake from a centrifuge or Nutsche filter, or dependent upon the application slurry is fed into the dryer.
Drying

For efficient drying the dryer is typically evacuated in steps and heated up at the same time. During the drying process the product is agitated. The dryer is maintained under vacuum and at the maximum allowable temperature for the product until the final required product humidity level is reached.
Cooling

After drying is completed the product is cooled down prior to discharging.
Discharging

The dried and cooled product is discharged thru the side discharge valve. The product is transported to the discharge valve by the agitator.
Cleaning

Using spray balls a cleaning fluid is sprayed onto all product wetted internal surfaces for the internal cleaning of the equipment in between individual batches or for product change over. This provides for full and efficient cleaning of the dryer interior.
